Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) And Free Material
A person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher or Lecturer in any of the schools recognized by the Department of School Education, Haryana and affiliated by the Board of School Education, Haryana has to qualify the Haryana Teacher's Eligibility Test conducted by HBSE every year.
Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) is conducted for three categories as mentioned below.
• Category 1- For the candidates who want to be a teacher for classes I to V and fulfills the minimum qualification.
• Category 2- For the candidates who want to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII and fulfill the minimum qualification.
• Category 3- For the candidates who want to be a teacher for classes IX to XII and fulfill the minimum qualification.
Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2013 examination pattern
For category 1: Question paper will consist of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and the duration of examination will be one and a half hours. Questions will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus for classes I-V.
• Child Development and pedagogy: 30 MCQs: This section will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
• Mathematics: 30 MCQs: Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of the subjects.
• Environmental Studies: 30 MCQs .
• Language I (Hindi): 30 MCQs will focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction.
• Language II (English): 30 MCQs will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
For category 2: Question paper will consist of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and the duration of examination will be one and a half hours. Questions will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus for classes VI - VIII.

• Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory): 30 MCQs
• Mathematics and Science: 60 MCQs
• Language I (Hindi) (Compulsory): 30 MCQs
• Language II (English) (Compulsory): 30 MCQs
Social Studies Teacher:
• Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory): 30 MCQs
• Social Studies: 60 MCQs (60 Marks)
• Language I (Hindi) (Compulsory) : 30 MCQs
• Language II (English) (Compulsory): 30 MCQs
Hindi, Home Science and DPE Teacher:
• Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory): 30 MCQs
• (a)Social Studies (b) Mathematics and Science: 60 MCQs
• Language I (Hindi) (Compulsory): 30 MCQs
• Language II (English) (Compulsory): 30 MCQs
Sanskrit/ Punjabi / Urdu Language Teacher:
• Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory): 30 MCQs
• (a)Social Studies (b) Mathematics and Science: 60 MCQs
• Language I (Hindi OR English) (Compulsory): 30 MCQs
• Language II (Sanskrit OR Punjabi OR Urdu) (Compulsory): 30 MCQs
For category 3: Question paper will consist of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and the duration of examination will be one and a half hours. Questions will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus for classes IX-XII.
